Hay Festival timber frame

Hay Festival timber frameJones and Fraser were commissioned by ‘hay in transition’ to build and exhibit a small green oak frame in the Permaculture garden at the Hay on Wye literature festival. Two pieces were made; one being a throughfare at the entrance to the garden and the other a free standing cruck blade at the exit.

As this was a relatively small project and with emphasis being on eco credentials Jones and Fraser used wood from a fallen tree on the home farm for all elements of these structures, even pegs and shingles.
